Homemade Pizza Crust

Every weekend we have a family pizza night. Sometimes it is on Saturday and sometimes Sunday. It just depends on what is going on that weekend. Family pizza night consists of pizza and games. Every once in awhile we watch a movie instead of a play a game. That depends on the week we have had. One thing stays the same, we always have family night.

Since this has be going on for about 5 years now, I have pretty much mastered pizza crust!

Homemade Pizza Crust
(makes 2 pie crusts)
1 3/4 cups hot water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp. salt
2 1/4 tsp. yeast
1TBS. honey or sugar
4 1/2 cups all  purpose flour

Mix together water, oil, salt, yeast and honey. Let sit for 5 minutes. 

Add flour. Knead for a few minutes. Dough should be smooth and well formed. 
Let rest, covered for 20 minutes.

Separate dough into 2 balls. Spread into pans. Top with pizza sauce, cheese and all the toppings you want! 
Cook @ 425 for 15 -20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. 

*We always make one stuff crust and one regular. To make the stuff crust we just push the crust high along the edges and line the outer layer with cheese. Then fold the crust over over the cheese. 

*On our stuff crust we add a butter/garlic mixture to the crust. I melt 1/2 cup butter and sprinkle in a bit (usually a lot) of garlic powder. I add this to the outer layer (over the stuff crust) when the pizza is about 95% of the way done. Then pop it back in the over for a few minutes.

*I like to make and can our own pizza sauce. Unfortunately, we usually run out way too quickly! So I buy the generic pizza sauce and spice it up a bit. Usually adding a tad of sugar and parsley.

We have been doing pizza on friday nights for 14 years. Few diffrent recipes, but often home made. Might also be calzones, individaul, pizza rolls (like cinnamon rolls but all pizza stuuf).
